About the Process

How do I get started with a bespoke artificial tree project?

Getting started is simple. Just get in touch with a brief description of your project, including the space you are working with and any ideas you have in mind. We will come back to you with friendly, no-obligation advice and take it from there. You can call us on 01207 460 140 or fill in our contact form.

What information do you need to provide a quote?

The more detail the better, but even a rough brief is enough to start a conversation. Helpful information includes the species or style of tree you have in mind, the approximate height and location, whether installation is required, and any photos or drawings of the space. We work with clients at all stages, from a vague idea through to a fully detailed design brief.

What is the lead time for a bespoke artificial tree?

Lead times vary depending on the complexity and scale of the project. We advise getting in touch as early as possible in your project timeline. We will always do our best to meet your schedule and can discuss timescales on a case-by-case basis from the very first conversation.

What does the process look like from enquiry to installation?

We begin with an initial consultation to understand your requirements and the space. From there, we develop a design, often working from drawings, photos, or site visit notes, and agree on the specification with you before building begins. Every tree is handcrafted to order at our UK workshop, then shipped to be installed by you or our team. We manage the entire process, including international logistics where required.

Products & Specification

How much do bespoke artificial trees cost?

Pricing depends on several factors: the species, height, trunk girth, foliage density, pot or base requirements, and whether installation is included. Smaller statement trees typically start from a few hundred pounds, while large-scale commercial installations, a full hotel lobby or shopping centre atrium, for example, can run to several thousand pounds. We provide free, no-obligation quotes tailored to your specific project, so the best first step is simply to get in touch.

What types of artificial trees do you offer?

We offer an extensive range including artificial blossom trees, olive trees, ficus trees, silver birch trees, maple trees, palm trees, wisteria, bamboo, rose trees, banana trees, and many more. We also create bespoke synthetic trees, artificial green walls, topiary, vines, and mixed planting displays. If you have something specific in mind that is not on the list, get in touch — we rarely say it cannot be done.

What sizes are available?

Because every tree is built to order, there are no fixed-size limits. We work to your exact specification, whether you need a small statement piece at 1.5 metres or a towering installation of 8 metres or more. Trunk width, canopy spread, and foliage density are all agreed with you before build begins.

How long do commercial artificial trees last?

High-quality artificial trees from plantART are built to last many years,  in most cases well over a decade, with minimal maintenance. We use premium materials and construction techniques designed specifically for the demands of commercial environments, where durability and consistency of appearance are essential.

Are artificial trees maintenance free?

Almost entirely. Unlike real trees, our artificial trees require no watering, pruning, fertilising, or specialist care. An occasional dust with a soft cloth or gentle compressed air is all that is typically needed to keep them looking their best.

Can artificial trees be fully customised?

Yes, that is the essence of what we do. Every tree is built to your exact specification: species, height, trunk style, canopy shape, foliage density, and colouring can all be tailored. We regularly work from client sketches, architect drawings, or mood boards to bring specific visions to life.

Safety & Compliance

Are artificial trees fire safe for commercial premises?

Yes, when specified correctly. Our FireSilx range uses foliage that is inherently flame-retardant, meaning the fire resistance is built into the material itself, not applied as a surface coating that can degrade over time. FireSilx meets the fire safety requirements for commercial spaces, including restaurants, hotels, shopping centres, and public buildings. We recommend FireSilx for all indoor commercial installations and are happy to provide documentation for your fire risk assessment.

What is FireSilx and how is it different from standard artificial foliage?

FireSilx is plantART's inherently flame-retardant foliage range. Standard artificial foliage is typically treated with a fire-retardant spray or coating after manufacture, a solution that can diminish over time or be damaged by cleaning. FireSilx foliage is flame retardant throughout the material itself, providing lasting, reliable protection without the use of greasy or sticky surface films. For any commercial installation that requires fire safety compliance, FireSilx is the correct specification.

Can artificial trees be used outdoors?

Yes. Our UVSilx outdoor range is specifically engineered for exterior use. UVSilx foliage is UV-resistant and fade-proof, maintaining its colour and appearance even in direct sunlight and hot climates. We have installed outdoor artificial trees and planting across the UK and in locations including the UAE, where UV resistance is particularly critical.

Do your installations meet UK safety standards?

Yes. All plantART installations are built to comply with relevant UK safety regulations and standards. We are SafeContractor accredited and take compliance seriously at every stage of the build and installation process.

Practical Questions

Do you offer installation as well as supply?

Yes. plantART can handle the full project from initial consultation and design through to delivery and professional installation. Our team manages the entire process, whether the project is in the UK or internationally, including all logistics, shipping, and on-site installation.

Do you offer an artificial tree hire service?

No, unfortunately, plantART does not currently offer a hire service. All of our artificial trees are sold outright. Because they are built to last and require minimal maintenance, they represent a cost-effective long-term investment compared with repeatedly hiring foliage.

Which type of artificial tree is most popular for restaurants?

Artificial blossom trees are consistently our most requested species for restaurant and hospitality settings, prized for their dramatic visual impact and atmosphere. Artificial olive trees are also very popular, particularly for Mediterranean-themed spaces. Ficus trees and silver birch trees are frequently used for a more natural, organic look. The best choice always depends on the specific interior design scheme; we are happy to advise.

Do you work internationally?

Yes. We regularly design, supply, and install artificial trees and planting projects across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Canada, and the USA. We are experienced in international shipping, customs logistics, and installation coordination in locations far beyond the UK. If you are based outside the UK, please get in touch. We are well-practised at making it work wherever you are in the world.
