Zen wanted a centrepiece their diners would photograph - and that is exactly what they got. plantART designed, built and installed a large customised artificial cherry blossom tree for the restaurant in Durham, its canopy spreading over the dining area from a strikingly realistic sculpted bark trunk.

The tree was built around a natural trunk with a 2-metre-high canopy, with silk blossom applied by hand to achieve a natural, irregular density rather than the uniform look of off-the-shelf faux trees. As with many of our installations, this took place during a complete refit, prior to the opening of the restaurant.
