Sweet Basil

Cherry trees in full bloom are an exceptionally beautiful sight to witness during spring in many Chinese cities, in abundance along avenues, parks and gardens. They offer breathtaking scenes, exhibiting many shades of blossom.

plantART recently recreated this spectacular phenomenon at the Sweet Basil Valley Chinese restaurant in Yeadon just north of Leeds. Six wonderful pink artificial blossom trees were installed, including one very large feature tree with a canopy spreading over 8m above diners’ tables, creating the the perfect dining experience.

In the centre of the restaurant is a very large prominent support pillar; plantART took the opportunity to create an unusual feature, a multi-stemmed trunk to encase and disguise this pillar. The tree trunk, constructed using natural wood, UK sourced from managed and sustainable woodlands, is entirely self supporting due to plantART’s ability to compliment artistic skills with over thirty five years of innovating engineering experience.

An additional five other cherry blossom trees of various sizes and shapes were strategically placed within the entrance, reception, over booth seating and around the restaurant.
