Savoy Hotel

When one of London's most famous hotels needs greenery that looks immaculate every single day of the year, living planting is rarely the practical answer. For the Savoy Hotel, plantART supplied and installed bespoke artificial boxwood topiary hedges along the riverside entrance in the heart of central London.

The brief called for hedging that would frame the space with the crisp, formal look of clipped buxus, while standing up to direct sunlight and wind exposure without watering, trimming or replacement planting. Our artificial boxwood hedges are built on steel frames and timber troughs with UV-stable foliage, so they hold their colour and shape season after season.

The project involved more than a dozen 2m x 1m hedge units, manufactured in our UK workshop and installed by the plantART team over a couple of days.

For a five-star venue, the economics are as compelling as the look: no gardener visits, no irrigation, no seasonal replanting, and a display that photographs perfectly all year round.
