It is believed, with supporting evidence from many research institutions, that from the very beginning, humans have adapted and lived harmoniously with plants and trees.

People prefer the natural surroundings of green trees and plants. Unfortunately, as our cultures have evolved, many more of us are now gathered to live, work and spend leisure time in large cities. This new way of life means we are surrounded by tall buildings and vast expanses of concrete and tarmac.

We naturally feel more comfortable amongst green vegetation and trees, resulting in reduced stress, and helping us to relax and become untroubled.

Before moving into their newly refurbished office, PaperCut planned to include a large artificial olive tree.  The desired tree was almost the full height of the room (2.8m high with an extended 4.3m wide canopy). The final tree was set onto a flat steel base so to appear as if growing naturally. As you can see from the accompanying photographs, this added security of fixing allows staff to sit and relax under the tree. The tree also provides a complimentary visual green presence throughout the room.

“Hi Paul,

During the design phase for our new office, we wanted to ensure that we incorporated a theme around nature which would not only involve planting but additionally create a centre point with a wow factor. Once we had decided on the idea of a tree, we were introduced to the team at PlanArt.  As a software company, unsurprisingly,  we had little experience of artificial trees. This meant it was important for us to not only get a great, realistic end product but also to feel that we were being advised in the right way. Overall we could not have been happier with the advice, design, installation and quality of our tree solution.  plantART certainly enabled us to achieve our goal of introducing the wow factor to our new office.
