Cherry trees in full bloom are a magnificent sight, as witnessed during spring in many Chinese cities. Growing in abundance along avenues, parks and gardens, they create breathtaking scenes exhibiting many shades of blossom.
plantART recently recreated this spectacular phenomenon at the Sweet Basil Valley Chinese restaurant in Yeadon just north of Leeds. No less than six wonderful pink artificial blossom trees commissioned in total. This project included one huge feature tree canopy, spreading over 8m above the restaurant tables, creating the perfect dining experience.
In the centre of the restaurant is large and prominent support pillar; plantART advised creating an unusual feature, a multiple stemmed trunk to encase and disguise this less than attractive pillar!
The tree trunk is self-supporting and a testament to plantART’s ability to complement its artistic skills with over thirty-five years of innovating engineering experience. It is also worth noting that the trunk is constructed using sourced natural wood from managed and sustainable woodlands here in the UK.
The remaining five artificial cherry blossom trees of various sizes and shapes were strategically placed within the entrance, reception and over booth seating around the restaurant.
