plantART’s recent commission: fitting artificial exterior plants to Eden; situated in the centre of Warrington. Eden, opening next Thursday (16th September) will become Warrington’s latest destination, dynamic and contemporary café bar.
The pictures show the story how artificial outdoor plants can compliment and enhance the brand image.

The “journey” and how it was achieved:-
This is a prominent roadside corner location; a new business redevelopment and a positive need to get this property to portray a newly revised image it was suggested to use artificial exterior plants to help catalyse this effect.
A brief back ground: this a project was designed to create a single development which involved joining two properties into one and to provide a single business premises
The linking 37 meters of high level troughs filled the requirements. Creating a structural, cosmetic & a pleasing blend for a workable solution

The planting was fitted to two elevations, front and side, and fixed onto a steel facia. The planters were to have a complimentary white finish, the plants to be a combination of upright and trailing. The emphasis was to be to provide an abundance of forward trailing ivies and ferns, choosing soft natural green varieties with a mixture of textures. Owing to the projecting overhang directly above the facia on the front elevation the element of upright planting was omitted.

Other important points needed to be taken into consideration was finding appropriate fixing to the stall facia, Although the planting which is set into 100 and 80cm planter troughs are relatively light consideration has to be given to the extra loads and strains that can be put upon the securing brackets and fixings. These extra loads can come in the form of strong winds, heavy rain and the accumulation of snow.

Balance between the relatively thin facia steel, the planter weight and visual appearance. Widened and thinner gauge brackets and special steel fasteners were used to better distribute the loading on each fixing.
A very satisfying job
