Large artificial trees are rapidly gaining more attention and seen once again as a great hit. Large artificial trees are effectively used as dramatic visual catalysts by adding to the list of increasing number of business success stories. Clients all over the world are inspired by the visual impact very large artificial trees, bamboo and palms create; not only because of their significantly majestic impressive statue; but the wonder of having such beautiful outdoor tropical trees set in tranquil interior settings. The “ore” of their presence adds credibility, value and Wow-Facture! appeal. plantART have the skills, knowledge, expertise and most importantly the experience in specifying, constructing and safely installing large bespoke trees, large artificial bamboo and large artificial palms.
It is now possible to build artificial trees and palms up to 7.0 meter plus and artificial bamboo to 15 meter plus, in any variety and style/shape to compliment all and any internal deigns and locations.
This short article shows and explains how plantART constructed two fabulous trees for a destination in Kirkcaldy, Fife, for a newly opened and exciting venue.
A very impressive “wind swept look” – the creation of a bespoke large artificial pink cherry blossom tree.

Building a 4.0 meter high plus Large Artificial Pink Cherry Blossom Tree
The pictures above show the formation and construction stages in building this unique artificial pink cherry blossom in the construction of the tree.
Although a traditional favourite amongst our customers, planrART constructed another hand built 4.0 meter large green artificial ficus tree with added liana vine attached and entwined around the trunk and extended out and beyond the very dense canopy of lush green foliage – thereby, simply put, making something ordinary into something extraordinary.

4.0 meter high Large Artificial Green Ficus Tree
Both these large artificial trees, the artificial ficus and artificial cherry were set into charcoal grey modular GRP large square and round containers respectively. Owing to the tree heights and sizes of the canopies the heavy trunks needed to be securely fixed into the containers. Neither the trees nor the containers could be fixed onto the flooring; thus we had to find a means of providing sufficient ballast, to give container stability. Heavy ballast was made in the form of “polo mint” style concrete tablets which can be easily transported onto site and fitted into the container, once positioned.
The artificial cherry tree needed, and a specific client request, to have a distinctive “wind swept” effect and to appear as if the tree was growing from the corner of the room. The artificial cherry tree was built –up using very delicate, vibrant and colourful artificial cherry blossom foliage, using 500 artificial sprays. This was a very painstaking process and patience prevailed. The artificial cherry tree canopy was made up in sections. The designed canopy needed to spread and extend to at least four meters; but, the access doors were only two meters wide. To avoid damage and facilitate transporting such a large artificial tree the upper artificial cherry tree canopy branches were made up separately and individually fitted into position on site.

Another additional feature to this interesting project are the innovative uses of artificial “natural” bamboo. The picture below shows an unusual configuration of artificial bamboo stems to create delicate floral inserts.
